Viktoriya Sasonkina! Meisel loves this girl. He shot her for the Ferretti and CK jeans campaign so a VI cover is quite expected actually. This might not be a stand-out cover but the look is quite striking, it was inspired by Bette Davis.
Vogue Paris
Anna Selezneva, the model with the ‘most wanted status’ pre-show season nabs one of the biggest cover of all this month. You have to remember that Carine hardly casts newbies to front Vogue Paris.
I love the way Carine styled this cover, her eyes look really mysterious, and intriguing.

Karen Elson in Prada. How many times do you have to see Prada in this season’s magazine covers & editorials. If I see another piece of Prada lace again I don’t know if I can take it anymore.

Hilary Rhoda in Dior. I am not sure of that over-tan look, but it is great that she is getting some work besides Estee Lauder. Even though she is leaning towards the commercial side, at least she didn’t end up at Victoria’s Secret (that’s almost the end of a high fashion career), like Doutzen Kroes.

Gisele Bündchen in Dolce & Gabbana. From a US GQ cover to a Vogue cover… talk about versatility.

Raquel Zimmermann in Chanel. I always have a problem with the amount on text they have on the cover. Is it because chinese characters have longer meaning?
This is their 3rd anniversary issue, I thought that they would have used some of their favourite home grown models instead like usual.
Vogue Nippon
Natasha Poly is working it again. This season it’s all about ‘the glare’ for her isn’t it.
That font over face thing is fast becoming their trademark and I am not a fan of it.
Vogue Korea
A very ghastly looking Chanel Iman in Burberry, for her very first solo Vogue cover. Maybe they finally remembered that she is actually half-korean.
The ironic thing is, the title screams ‘Black Beauties’ but her face is scarily pale, and it sounded like they are trying to catch up on the models’ racial diversity trend, which you know, is starting to fade already.

Priyanka Chopra in Louis Vuitton. Another indian actress…
Vogue Australia
Abbey Lee Kershaw in Gucci (duh, since she’s in the campaign). The cover looks like a very ‘low-budget’ shot to me but I am simply happy that they are not ripping off covers much nowadays and they support their batch of new ‘it’ girls. Will Sarah Stephens be next?

Edita Vilkeviciute in Balenciaga. I love how they use new models besides veterans too, and the editorials are always so artsy with a wide range of modelling talents in them.

Freja Beha Erichsen in Burberry. It took me a while to get use to her in huge long hair, but what a beautiful, exotic cover.

Harper’s BAZAAR US
I’ve gotten my hands on this issue already and I love all the editorials inside. They have 11 back-to-back amazing editorials with some of the top models like Hilary Rhoda and Angela Lindvall. Can’t believe that BAZAAR actually sells less than both ELLE & Vogue in the US.

what’s so surprising about UK vogue leaving out the G? they do it for like every issue. would you rather they covered her face a la vogue nippon?
@aaron: not surprised 🙂 just that when every other vogue will at least let a bit of the covered font peek out, they had obviously make the letter disappear, while O and U are covering her hair and all. I prefer face over font, shows that they don’t need people to know that’s VOGUE, because it is iconic enough.

On Prada: I`ve started to see the collection as very oppressively authoritarian, like living in some kind aesthetic dictatorship. I wonder what their sales figures look like…
Vogue Nippon really needs to let go of the font on face. Or at least change to a less disturbing color. It really screams `VOGUE, A REGISTERED TRADEMARK`, with some irony but not enough.
When you look at Vogue covers of the early 1900`s you see so much play with the text and fonts (if my memory serves me right) and it would be nice to get that revived at least occasionally. But then that might disturb the BRAND-image? sob…
