Fall 09′ campaigns… the next batch

July 15, 2009

Katlin Aas, Kendra Spears, Julia Hafstrom, Anna de Rijk and Ymre Stiekema ph by Steven Meisel.

I find Prada this season a little disappointing, given how stunning was last season’s with the seven girls. But the casting is fantastic as always— Kendra Spears is heading the title role with shots for eyewear all going to her solo. Ymre, Katlin and Anna are predictable but Julia is definitely a hot shot, her natural red hair already suiting the colours of the collection to bits. As mentioned always, starting with anything Prada is just gold.

One thing that I don’t like… the water. It’s very fake, in some shots it looks like a blurred zebra print carpet, like those in the new Cavalli ads. It’s obvious because the lighting/angle of the water and the models don’t even go together? (I am no photography expert but just saying.) The images end up looking awkward. Otherwise, the entire mood could have just been lifted out of the show, the hair, makeup and styling, plus the lighting that resembles the show itself. It’s a great concept and the boats are adorable… it’s just the water.

Miu Miu

Mimmi Soderstrom, Hannah Holman, Victoria Tuaz, Whitney Coble ph by Mert & Marcus

Get use to a different kind of Miu Miu ads, no celebs, all individual (relatively unknown) model shots. It’s about time when celeb hype is not needed to pull attention to a certain collection, these are great enough.

Kasia Struss, Sigrid Agren and Karlie Kloss ph by Mikael Janssen.

Bring Inez & Vinoodh back, Chloé ads were at their best under their lenses. Over-photoshopping, flashing too many ‘it’ bags doesn’t seen to relate much to Chloé’s aesthetics, it’s very commercial, and unnatural.

Come on zoom into Sigrid’s face:

Pringle of Scotland

Karlie Kloss ph by Fabien Baron

karlie pringle

Just one of Karlie’s five campaigns this season, girl’s on fire!

Kasia Struss and Irina Kulikova ph by Steven Meisel

Makes you wonder, why are two ladies, holding expensive handbags looking so desperately lost in a forest, together?

Magdalena Frackowiak, Marcel and Guinevere van Seenus ph by Mario Sorrenti

Looks similar to last season’s but beautiful nonetheless. Always love Kenzo ads, very easy on the eyes and just drop dead gorgeous.

Alana Zimmer ph by Steven Klein

Bottega Veneta

Anna Jagodzinska and Eddie Klint ph by Steven Meisel.

Oscar de la Renta

Anna Jagodzinska ph by Craig McDean

Marc Jacobs

Natasa Vojnovic, Ajuma Nasanyana, Kamila Filipcikova, and Olga Sherer ph by Juergen Teller

Add on more shots from the previous campaign post.

Roberto Cavalli

Karen Elson, Isabeli Fontana and Clement ph by Steven Meisel

Gisele Bundchen ph by Mario Testino

@ Prada, Mulberry, Kenzo: I like the casting, I don’t like the outcome:/

Ania Jagodzinska looks so fierce in both the ads!
