Some shout outs

June 29, 2009

The third cycle of the Great Britons programme has just begun, offering free flights to budding British talent as part of British Airways’ sponsorship of London 2012, and one of the categories is fashion. The competition is open to anyone aged over 16 who needs support to develop their talent. The judging panel, which includes Denise Lewis and film director Jeremy Gilley, will shortlist all applications and then the final 8 candidates will be up for the public vote.

The current application phase ends on the 5th of July, get over to http://www.greatbritons.ba.com/how-to-apply and where you’d like to fly, and why!

Another piece of news from UK, photographer Terry O’Neill, best known for documenting fashion and pop culture of the 60s, is to have an exhibition of a fabulous collection of artwork at the Getty Images Gallery, The Village of Westfield London.

The exhibition is entitled ‘Behind The Scenes’, and shows photos of celebrities in a never seen before setting. This also includes the famous shot of Teri’s then girlfriend Faye Dunaway, the morning after winning the Acadamy Award for Best Actress.
