For your calendar:

November 7, 2008

I have already received emails asking me about the schedule for the next Fall/Winter 09/10 fashion week so to make things easier… here you go:

Milan menswear Fall 09′

17-21 January 09′

Paris menswear Fall 09′

22-25 January 09′

Haute Couture Spring 09′

26-29 January 09′

New York men’s & women’s Fall 09′

13-20 February 09′

London men’s & women’s Fall 09′

20-24 February 09′

Milan women’s Fall 09′

25 February- 4 March 09′

Paris women’s Fall 09′

5-12 March 09′

If you notice something funny about the London schedule. Yes it is drawn back to 4 days because the first day is overlapping with the last of New York fashion week, so that doesn’t count. On usual basis, there is always a two day gap between the capitals with enough time for the fashion people to travel and get ready. Guess the models and the media are going to experience some kind of mad rush in between… Or maybe, the first, second day of London fashion week will be completely ignored since the second last day of the New York shows always have heavy weights like Donna Karan and Ralph Lauren. Oh drama.

as a brit, i can’t help but feel annoyed at the way london fashion is ignored and made to fit in with the other cities’ schedules. it’s not fair!! grrrr!!!

apparently, the same thing is going to happen for Spring 10’… not fair but somehow most London designers agreed on that??

Awesome! Thanks for the full list of dates! Was looking for it!

And yes, was disappointed that LFW would clash with NYFW, but was also shocked to see how much the london designers agreed to it. *ponder ponder ponder*

Poor London FW. Always the bridesmaid, never the bride.

All the best British designers like Galliano, McQueen and McCartney show in Paris. If London FW wants to be taken seriously, they need to lure those people back.
