Recap of the action at NYFW

September 15, 2008

  • Asian Models blogger just let me know of his photo blog: New York City daily photo and I really love all the candid shots. I wonder where did he get all the energy from, running 4 photo blogs, 1 models blog, 2 fashion blogs and holding up a full-time job (which happens to not be in the fashion industry).

          Check these out:

Lunch time at the Bryant Park. You might be able to spot a fashionista or two.

Anna Wintour dashing into her Mercedes after one of the shows on Day 7.

  • Moving on to the backstage, Betty Sze of captured tons of behind-the-scenes pictures which have been very insightful.

The board at Michael Kors

Phillip Lim with Richard Chai. They are such good pals that they attended each other’s show. Talk about showing support (or checking out competition).

Carine Roitfeld at Ralph Lauren. She was missing until the last day of fashion week for some unknown project.

Bee Schaffer with mum Anna Wintour (not shown) at Rodarte
  • Quite a handful of models stumbled during the shows. started their Rodarte review with ”Poor Abbey Lee… took a catwalk tumble”, Chanel fell at Peter Som and even Natasha Poly stumbled at Zac Posen. Give the girls some flats already! Plus, you got to see what model Heidi Mount had to walk on for the Doo Ri runway…
  • The castings were more diverse this season with loads of new asian & black models popping up. Arlenis alone had chalked up 25 shows, with an opening and closing spot for Oscar de la Renta. Will she get his campaign?

This post might have been a bit late because right now, Day one of London Fashion week has just been over. But anyway, I am looking forward to Marios Schwab and Giles Deacon. Hope to see some good collections.

    Thanks for the mention.

Darn, now my Peter Parker/Spiderman….I mean, Regular Guy/Photographer/Model Blogger/Super Hero identity is revealed.

Just so you know, only two of the blogs receive regular attention. The others are just “side projects”.

I like Arlenis a lot. Her face is so different. She can do both high fashion and street fashion.
