Feel the difference: YSL, Cavalli resort

YES — Stefano’s latest effort for Yves Saint Laurent is literally, too cool for words. There is such a wide variety of looks, from snakeskin print dress to comfy jumpsuits. This is what a jet-setting royalty would wear, try picturing Carla Bruni or Kate Middleton in some of those pieces.

NO — Roberto Cavalli is still doing leopard prints. He loves it so much that he had to use it for almost every collection. I do like the Japanese floral dresses, but the look above only spells one word for me— tacky. The photography, the styling and the model (who’s she?) didn’t help much either. This is what a wannabe pop singer would wear to perform, try picturing Paris Hilton in that.

Roberto Cavalli is what we in NYC called the Bridge & Tunnel crowd pleaser.

Bridge & Tunnel crowd = people who live outside of NYC but come into the city to party. They tend to be flashy and wear “loud” fashion. Real NYC fashionistas tend to favor clean cut silhouette in black. 🙂

YES, I agree and am totally in love with especially this suit…..thank you for posting it.

NO! I am not and never have been a Cavalli fan. This kind of clothes, but cheaper of course you can buy on every market or at clothes chains. Its very much copied by his youth-memories I believe. I really dislike all animals prints lately which I once loved. Overkill!

(I do dislike my avatar a lot btw…..brrrr…..)

    YSL <3.

Cavalli reminds me of Express smashed into a weird Gucci… bad.

its amazing how clothes so expensive can look so cheap. i’ve never really liked cavalli stuff, it always looks a bit too euro-trash.

@ Myself: I apologise for the critic on my avatar! You know these days of the month…..I’m just a woman….I’m back to normal and now I think: “Hmm, its okay!”

    Yes, yes, very off-topic…..
