I hope that the Prada Fall 08′ ads won’t have the same feel as the editorial’s. The lace has this ‘granny’ feel about it and Linda has to make them look chic, not old. Isn’t that a challenge since she is considered as an ageing supermodel? But maybe with photoshop, airbrushing and all the fabulous styling, we might get a surprise. Who knows.

Well, ageing is a proces in life we all get trough one day. And then it goes on. But why should we stop to feel gorgeous and glamorous? Why not embrace it?

Fashion has become a ‘youth thing’. While women in the prime of their lifes and even the older ones wants and do love to remain be fashionable and stylish. Without that ‘granny look’ but like a lady. Like in ‘gracefully older’. I think the botox and nips & tucks does not pay honour to ‘gracefully older’. But each their own.

Intelligent and passioned as you are for what you’re doing you must have the imagination that you still feel that same love and passion while ageing…..

    very well said Nana!
Linda is THE MODEL and has a history like none other. Since the beginning and still today, she shows them how it’s done.

That “Makeover Madness” editorial with Linda is pure gold, no doubt. This just is in love with it´s own boredom. Whatever that means…

Anyways, it`s bizarre how this has been a season of period drama at VI:

-Feb: Swedish farm maids from the olden times.
-March: Uhm… well it looked old! (As did Jan.)
    -April: 70s disco queen.
-May: 50s foot-fetish pin-up (I just saw it at the shops and it was just too direct in it`s referencing, not creative enough.)
-June: The Duchess? I`m getting a Kennedy wibe…

Let´s just hope that Meisel finds his way out of the history books for Fall…

Oh and I WAS really surprised about Linda for Prada: she has such a soft jawline in the L`Oreal ads… But firming it probably isn`t the hardest thing… And on Prada still: what is with the monotony of the collections? It just seems like there is only 1 look. Same for Miu Miu.

I do love the collars that go with the dresses, those are essential in balancing the lace toward “New”.

i suppose the main point of ad campaigns is to draw attention to the brand, and by doing something like changing from sasha to linda, a model who is totally opposite, they have already done that without the ads even been printed yet, so i guess in that sense choosing linda has paid off.

I hope the Prada ads resemble Linda’s work for Kenar back in the late 80’s. She rocked those ads.

When Meisel finishes his historical references he’ll go back to last years god aweful video blog and sin city references… Xerox strikes again.

I think Miuccia are making a huge mistake by choosing Linda as the new Prada’s face… that is to bad.. hope this is the only ad…and return to the new young beautiful models like Irina Kulikova or Anabela Belikova
