How to work in the Prada office

April 2, 2008

Photobucket

Miuccia Prada (yes, herself) have instructions for her New York employees:

Desk and work surfaces should be clean and uncluttered. Pictures, calendars, etc. should not be taped to cubicle/office walls

Pets may not be brought to the corporate office or the store

For corporate employees, all coats should be hung in the appropriate coatroom and not kept in offices or hung over cubicle walls

Window shades should be even (either completely up or completely down) throughout one side of the floor. Items may not be placed on the window sills

Absent extenuating circumstances, lunch may not be eaten at your desk

Violators “may be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.”

Seems like ‘The Devil wears Prada’, is real…

Taken from frillr.com (apparently, some ‘insider’ has leaked these rules to Page Six)

What about the dress code? Hair? Make-up? I’m not jealous. I agree that pets can not be allowed. But that shades!

To be honest, it makes a lot of sense. It is Prada, AFTERALL — minimalism to the max.

I guess she’s never sat at her desk; starving while working for an overbearing, obsessed manager with very complex rules in the workplace. Maybe she should volunteer in a soup kitchen to get back to reality.
