Singapore Fashion Festival 2008
It is coming real soon! The biggest highlight of all:
— Matthew Williamson is the opening show. This is his second time showing in Singapore and he is celebrating his 10th year anniversary.
— Other big names include ck Calvin Klein (the closing show, with creative director Kevin Carrigan), Carlos Miele and of course many local design talents which include London based Ashley Isham.
—The supermodel invited to SFF this time is Erin O’Connor. Rumours say that the council tried luring Linda Evangelista but apparently, she literally doesn’t ”wake up for less than $10,000 a day”.
— Local label alldressedup will feature a design collaboration with Francesca Versace, the niece of Donatella and the late Gianni Versace making her debut having recently graduated from Central Saint Martins.
In fact, I have just seen the real pieces of alldressedup during a photoshoot and I am really impressed by the quality and the design. The style is very local but at the same time chic, on-trend and versatile. You can pair its pieces with anything in your closet. Think Marni meets 3.1 Phillip Lim.
Although the brand is meant to support local designers and the fashion industry as a whole in Asia, I can’t wait for it to expand to US and european market— stocks have already arrived at Saks and Bergdorf Goodman in the US, UK’s NET-A-PORTER.COM and London boutique Aquaint
