Meisel goes country

I think I know why sometimes people get so amazed by Steven Meisel’s photography. He picks a new concept that is totally unexpected but it’s beautiful and it suits the season’s new trends. Somehow this cover really intrigues me. The mood, the direction, the styling— the feel of it is just so Dutch lady, that quietly sweet and understated femineity. Simply mesmerizing.
Then I wonder why his work for Italian Vogue can out-class the ones he does for US Vogue by so many levels…

    absoluty fabulous, the mood is so quietly country, looking at the cover i can almost feel the county mood, now thats real photography

    Gorgeous cover!! This is such a departure from his usual sexy photos.

    The color is a little faded but I think it was the scan and not the original intended cover by Meisel.

    Looks dull to me.Sad and “The Grapes Of Wrath”-like.Love the lamb tho.
