Suvi & Anabela for Balenciaga

July 8, 2007

The Balenciaga ad campaigns have always been a coveted one. It’s like, whoever fronts it will get a fast ticket to model stardom. Think Coco Rocha and remember Hilary Rhoda? During the Spring/Summer 06′ season, she walked the ruwnay for this label and appeared in its ad campaign as the only-girl. The fashion world was struck by her all american beauty and let’s say the rest is history. She’ definitely one of the most wanted models right this moment having been featured in the May issue of US Vogue as a next topmodel to look out for.

This is Finnish model Suvi Koponen in her second high profile campaign after Calvin Klein. She looks so zombie-like here (reminds me of ‘Adam’s Family) but I love those military-style clothes that spells a lot of class & royalty.

…and Anabela Belikova from Belarus. She’s got the face of a 10 year-old kid. By the way, what’s with the background? A plasma tv pairing with folkloric clothes?

If you do realize, both models have one common link— opening shows for Miuccia Prada. Suvi did the Spring/Summer 07′ one while Anabela, the latest Miu Miu show. This is a tradition. When a model gets discovered by her, it will only mean a good thing. Daria, Sasha, Anna Mariya & Irina K’ have all already done that and look where’re they now…
