The newly promoted ELLE style director has been on my list of aspirational style for quite a while. I really like the way she pulls off the monochromatic looks with a dash of casual-chic and still looks formal enough to attend all the events and shows.
Here is my guide on how to get her style:
1. Harem pants

2. Leather jacket

3. Denim

4. Scarf

5. All black

Actually, her outfits remind me of Alexander Wang, of whom she is a fan of.

And of course, her platinum bob is one of the main reasons why she is so achingly chic.

D&G pre-fall 08′
models: Abbey Lee Kershaw, Giedre Dukavskaite, Laura Blokhina, Lyoka Tyagnereva and Martha Streck
photographed by Mario Testino

The boys and girls of D&G just won’t stop partying.
And if you think these looks a little familiar, it is because the ads are shot by the same guy who did Burberry Spring/Summer 08′:

These kind of ads are the ones that choose to tell a story or a theme instead of putting heavy focus on the clothes, unlike the Jil Sanders or the Calvin Kleins. There are loads of movement and energy in the picture, which I actually enjoy seeing.
On another note, newbie Abbey Lee Kershaw is currently under an exclusive contract with Mario Testino— just like how fellow aussie Catherine McNeil had started her career…

First, V Magazine let us read its Spring 08 issue absolutely free online and now a full copy of ELLE accessories can also be previewed from its website.

Now I am starting to wonder: 10 years down the road, will we be reading our favourite magazines and newspaper like this? Do you like it or do you still refer having a solid hardcopy of it on your hands?

Chanel Iman, Oscar de la Renta’s Fall 08′ Bridal
The white dress is really sweet… but what distracted me is her ultra toned arms.
Scary.

I had my days as an intern at a fashion magazine. When I first started, I was ready for a ‘The Devil Wears Prada’ or ‘Ugly Betty’ experience— getting backstabbed or standing infront of the photocopying machine all day long. I have even heard stories of how an intern from another local magazine got sent to a remote island alone to source for shooting location.
I was prepared for the worst. But in the end, I am lucky as I did not receive any nasty tasks.
Maybe after all you would really want to thank the lucky stars for your own glamour-free job now– here I am presenting to you three bizarre fashion-industry positions/roles that you could never thought they exist.
Pencil fetcher
An intern at a fashion magazine in New York was asked to deliver Karl Lagerfeld’s favourite 2B pencil so that he could autograph copies of them. She did not even get to meet him.
Ipod nanny
A certain fashion designer owns more than 100 iPods and he had to hired someone to takecare of them, in the manner of a librarian. Moreover, his/her job is to upload CD collection on to the gadgets and source for the latest tracks to keep him entertained and inspired.
Dress namer
The role is to find an appropriate moniker for every couture outfit. This certain major-league designer’s recent winter collection boasted names such as Prince du Sang and Prince de Bohème. Talk about paying for the work of art.

This is Chanel’s new creative director of makeup Peter Philips’ debut. After working closely with the previous directors, Dominique Moncourtois and Heidi Morawetz, Phillips churned out a range of colours that are big on gold and shimmer. The inspiration comes from the apartment on Rue Cambon where Coco Chanel worked and lived.
“The apartment is so cozy, with lots of warm brown, bronzes and golds; an elegant gold-framed mirror, and a rough crystal chandelier. They all ended up in this collection in some way — whether it is a reflective surface, or a color.” says Philips.

Remember how the very popular black satin nail polish? It has even started a trend where by fashionistas would wear it to look chic and not gothic. I am wondering whether the new golden shade can repeat repeat the success.
The collection will be due out in July this year, followed by the holiday collection in October, which they hinted that it will be another round of gold rush.
