The Aussie was a sensation a year ago. I remember how she burst into the scene opening coveted shows and fronting Versace in her first season— never a humble beginning. Then it came a time when people started doubting that her success is not going to last long because she blew up too fast (labelling her as ‘The Next Supermodel’ when she was just a mint fresh newbie?) so she ended up with a rather bland Spring/Summer 08′.
But right now Cath is gaining notice again minus the ‘Next Supermodel’ tag. I guess she did it by keeping a low profile and ignoring the backlash thrown at her. I am actually very impressed with her recent editorial work, like these covers shot by Greg Kadel for Numéro. Maybe another turning point for her is— being freed from Mario Testino’s contract. He photographed her for a few major campaigns but other than that nothing helped in grooming her career. Maybe it would be another story if she was signed under Steven Meisel instead.
In fact, that would be a very different story.

Fronting two Numéro covers in the span of three months
And not forgetting to mention finally being cast in the all-important Prada show even though her agency is not IMG or WOMEN (yes Russell is bias). That is very significant.

Julien Macdonald for Givenchy, Spring/Summer 03′
G-I-V-E-N-C-H-Y + hawaiian… I just can’t relate that.
The house has came a long way since the Galliano, McQueen and Macdonald days— from sportswear in 2000 to the gothic and solemn look right now under Riccardo Tisci. Good to know that bright bikinis and florals don’t exist in this brand anymore, it is just wrong.
Anyway, I am glad that Givenchy has finally gotten a well-deserved spot in style.com’s latest top 10 collection, Fall 08′ is indeed one of his best. Actually, I love his couture creations the most, can’t wait for his next in upcoming July.

When I first look at Lanvin’s latest range of handbags, I thought of Christmas and parties, no kidding. The colours are bright and the raffia is so over-the-top. But I can imagine how these pretty things can light up a boring outfit (LBDs anyone?) and add a punch of spring colours to suit the season. My favourite is the one in blue— so achingly glamourous.

… because she reminds me of a laughing Marilyn Manson.

Blame Kate Moss…

But looking at how she matched her boots, I got to admit that they look really good on light colour jeans. I love the look on the left, the graphic tee goes well with the whole ensemble.
You can’t wear these for summer but you can be on the look out for thigh high boots while shopping for fall because apparently, some high end labels have already churned out many designs of it.

Fendi Etro
Etro’s lace up version seems set to be a hit, though I am not sure if there is any celebs out there who actually wears Etro…

It looks like any other normal T-shirts. I can even say that it is unflattering and shapeless and probably won’t look good on the body. But why does it cost £95?
Because it has the word Chloé on it.
