Another supermodel, Doutzen Kroes, made two appearances on the red carpet but I’m really glad to see Gemma there. There’re rumours of her gaining weight but whatever, she’s an aspiring actress with a film role under her belt.

When it comes to Angelina Jolie, it means NO fashion faux pas on the red carpet.

I’m glad that the following three ladies here have won their respective competition/award and most importantly, they were in their best look. There’s no fashion faux pas when it matters and their win will definitely be kept fondly in their memories, together with their fabulous fashion.

American Idol: Jordin Sparks

the satin Badgley Mischka gown suits Jordin’s body and skin tone really well. It’s not too old for a 17 year-old but still looks glamorous enough for the crowning of American Idol.

Miss Universe: Riyo Mori

Of all, I think this vintage-flavoured Gucci gown really did help her to her title of Miss Universe 2007. The top 5 contestants’ evening gowns were mostly ordinary ’seen-before’ shimmery gowns which are very common for beauty pagents. Mori totally rocked her gown in a more different style than the rest.

it looks really good on the runway too. Oprah Winfrey has worn it to the Oscars after party months ago..

the tiara fell from her head but whatever, she won it in style.

Cannes Film Festival Best Actress: Jeon Do-Yeon

The 34 years-old Korean Actress took home the prestigious Palme D’Or for Best Actress in the Cannes Film Festival. She looks really good in the metallic Ralph Lauren halter.

This is my fifth post on hair trends but I am still obssessed with this short hair thing. I actually got myself a bob haircut but ok, that’s not the point here. Models like Mariacarla, Cecilia Mendez, Alison Nix, Rachel Alexander, Patricia Schmid… are all known for their significant hairstyle. They revolutionized their careers because designers & photographers will just never get bored with pretty girls with a unique hair style that goes with almost everything.

the latest Dolce & Gabbana pre-Fall 07/08 ad campaigns…

last season’s pre-fall campaign. At first glance, it does look like a movie poster for a R-rated film. Some countries banned this ad campaign and it attracted a lot of controversy.

I just don’t agree with them that almost every ad campaign needs to be sexual or seductive to sell their products. Announcement: ‘June 07′ magazine covers’ is updated.  

This is the 60th Annual Cannes Film Festival and currently, there’re four American films competing with other good films from all over the world for the top honour, the Palme d’Or.  Anyway, since May 16 the opening day till today, I’ve seen the stars and guests from all over the world heating up the Haute-Couture-flooded red carpet. There’s still a few more days to go before this event ends so please stay tuned for my update…

Chloe Sevigny of ‘Zodiac’… She’s famous for her weird fashion taste but I think she looks pretty good in both outfits. The colour of her rather simple halter neck gown is very bold and the outfit on the right is very adorable, very Chloe ( not her , the fashion label I mean)

With an aeroplane ‘Chanel Line’ as the background, the jetsetter inspiration is clear. Models rocked the glamourous socialite look with dark red lips, fresh makeup and some walked down the runway with a glass of champagne, smoking a cigarette or even holding a passport. There’re a few looks being showcased — the stewardess/aviator, the hippie ( check out their headbands! ) and the sporty iceskater. I know I’ve gushed about him in my first ever blogpost but I want to say again… Karl Lagerfeld is pure genius!
